A few of our favorite restaurants
There are hundreds of restaurants in Nazare including in Sitio and Perdeneria. Additionally beaches further up the Atlantico have small restaurants that are usually open in the summer season. It is impossible to list all of them so here are just a few of our favorites. Most of these take reservations unless noted ( and are recommended during August) and will be able to answer your call in Portuguese, English and frequently French. Local Restaurants in Sitio
Portabella Restaurant $$ - another nice restaurant with traditional food, view of Sitio Square and Church. Reservations recommended for evening, but can usually walk in.
Restaurante Casa Pires -$$ No sign, white building next to the Sitio Church. Authentic Portuguese menu. Reservations reuired.
Sitiado $$ - Small intimate restaurant with nice Tapas plates and wines. Reservations required.
Art Pizza - $ Take out only pizza in Sitio, pretty good. You can also order Uber Eats ( just check the order when delivered, sometimes they are incorrect).
Waves Restaurant - $ Tacos’s tapas okay food. Sometimes has live Music opening an outdoor patio summer. Easy to walk to from home. (reservations not required)
Food Trucks - Many quick options on the way down to the Fort. Alot of them get busy during sunset times.
Restaurants open year round in Nazare area and downtown area
Meu Jardim - $$$ French Country cuisine in scenic farm area, owned by a local French/Portuguese family with young children. Always good. Reservations required.
A Tasquinha - $$ - Authentic Portuguese food. Reservations required for dinner
Little India - $ Indian food with good vegetarian options. (reservations not required)
Eat Thai -$ Good Thai food, open all the time ( not just dinner and lunch hours). (reservations not required)
La Muñeca - $ Authentic Mexican food, festive atmosphere. Owners are portuguese and Mexican, used to work on cruise ships. Very friendly and best margarita’s in town. (reservations not required)
Aleluia Restaurante - $$ Local cuisine, weekends frequently have live music - good for large groups. Reservations necessary on weekends/nights
Restaurante Tabernassa $$- nice ambiance, good meat dishes. Good service. Reservations necessary for evenings.
Bontà - Bistro Italiano - $$ Fresh made italian pastas. Specialty is Pistachio lasagna. Reservations required. Very small restaurant but well worth a visit
Tosca Gastro Bar - $$ Another nice tapas type restaurant in downtown Nazare. Reservations required.

Beach restaurants north of Sitio
MAD restaurant - $$$ Excellent food - great for lunch or dinner at sunset Reservations required R. do Vale Furado 65, Pataias, Portugal - 351 244 599 244
Nómade Comida Sustentável - $$ Very good Pizza and beverages with a beautiful view and eco friendly. Due to popularity, find them on Instagram to “reserve a pizza”. Usually open on Saturday and Sunday until 8:00 pm. Click here to make a reservation by message on Instagram.

Pratus - $$$ Across from the Monastery - Must have a reservation for dinner
House 51 - $$ is also another restaurant by the same owner as Pratus outside tables and a view of the Monastery - Live music on weekends
Restaurante O Cabeço - $$ Another favorite restaurant with beautiful country views and local cuisine
Økazu sushi - $$ - Good sushi, nice atmosphere and service
Activities to try in Nazare
Tours/Activities
Tours by MT Tours - local walking tours as well as extended in country tours. Local guides.
Creative Factory - Weekly/Weekend Art classes and unique workshops. Check website and register for Tile painting, Glass fusion, ceramic painting and more. Group options available., classes taught in Portuguese and English.
Electric Bike rentals and Bike Tours
E-Motion Nazare- located down in Nazare bikes are rentable by 1/2 day and full Day, Adult and Children’s bikes available. You can ride where you want. Bike delivery to house is available. A tour guide and day long bike tours are also available for an extra charge.
Iron Deer - Individual Bike rentals as well as tours. More daring adventures available. Best for experienced bike riders or those that want to ride on rugged terrain. Business is located in Calhau( near Aldi). Pick up Bikes yourself.
Water Activities
There are many water activity companies in Nazare. Here are just a few options. Doing a google search will yield many other options, but these are the two that we are aware of
Nazaré Water Fun - Jet ski, boat tours and more available

Wine Tours
There are many small wineries in the area.
Quinta dos Capuchos - This is nearby in Alcobaça and is available for tours and wine tastings. Call to make a reservation. English spoken
Places with Live Music
Oceano - Frequent Live music and food.
Nalu Beach Club - frequent live music by Os Pharol (local pop/cover band) in downtown area near bottom of accensor
Bússola na onda - Live music on Sunday’s down in Nazare ( closer to lighthouse). Great place to have adrink and watch the sunset.
Irish Pub - Down on the Marginal - Live music usually starts at 9- 10:00 pm.
Alleluia Restaurant - Usually has live music on Friday and Saturday’s. Dining reservations required.
